The film introduces the disabled athlete Su Huawei's entire life from birth to retirement after winning many championships in a highly compact rhythm. I'm very happy to meet Director Yin Zhiwen in the post-screening talk after the movie. He is younger than I thought. There is also a sign language teacher specially arranged next to him, very nice. Unlike "On you mark", which also tells about disabled son breaks through his limits with the encouragement of his father, the contradiction in this film focuses on describing the life of disabled athletes in real society. For example, the issues of unequal pay, employment discrimination, and family relations are all mentioned. I think the degree of civilization of a society depends to a large extent on whether the disabled can receive the life guarantee they deserve and realize their own value. From this perspective, our current society generally still has room for improvement.

There are two scenes in the film that were particularly impressive to me. One of them was the scene where Ah Wei couldn't speak to someone when he delivered the courier. Because I also sent a courier not long ago, and the courier is also a disabled person, so he can't speak clearly, and his hands and feet are also very clumsy. In the end, I offered to type what we were going to say on the phone and then successfully communicated with him. I don't know if everyone else he met would be like me. Suddenly I remembered something my parents mentioned a few years ago. There is a blind man in my home village. The only impression I have of him is that when he passed by the courtyard gate when I was a child, I called him, and he could call out my name according to the voice. Later, I left my hometown, and my voice changed. He must not know me now. It was almost Chinese New Year, and he was alone on crutches to pick things in the field and got lost. Later, the village chief mobilized the whole village to search the surrounding mountains for 2 days and nights. When they found him, he had passed out of hunger in the snowdrifts. He was finally rescued to the hospital. I feel that the suffering of a disabled person in his life is difficult for normal people to sympathize with.

Another scene seems to be what an advertising agent said when contacting Su’s mother to shoot an advertisement, "You should know that the glory of these athletes is temporary, and life after retirement is the most important thing." Regarding the reemployment of retired athletes, I also mentioned it in the review of the movie "Never stop" before. Ah Wei is lucky because he has a good athletic talent and won many gold medals with the company and encouragement of his mother. More disabled people have little achievements and no chance to receive advertisements. Life is a journey upwards, but some people have a lower starting point than normal people, so they have to run harder.
